About DemoWreck
A used part is only worth buying if someone stands behind it
That is the whole business. Anyone can pull a part off a car. The work is in testing it, grading it honestly, recording which car it came off, and still being reachable eight weeks later when something is not right.
Since 1998
DemoWreck started as a two-bay shed on 12 Tolway Place pulling Falcons and Commodores for the panel shops around the estate. The trade has changed since — the cars are full of modules, the write-off rules are tighter, and half our counter work now comes from interstate — but the floor still runs the same way.
We buy whole cars, not part-outs. That means when you ring about a right front door, we can tell you what the rest of that car looked like, whether it had been hit before, and what else off it is sitting on the rack next to yours.
Everything is catalogued against its donor vehicle from the moment it comes off. No unmarked shelves, no guessing which of the four alternators in the bin is the one that was tested.

How we grade
Three grades, applied at the bench by the dismantler who pulled the part. The grade sets the price and the warranty, and it is on the invoice before you pay.
- A
As removed, no faults
Warranty · 6 months
Straight, complete and working. Panels have no filler and no rust. What you would expect off a low-kilometre car.
- B
Serviceable, marked
Warranty · 3 months
Fully functional with cosmetic wear we have photographed and described — a stone chip, a scuff, faded lens. Priced accordingly.
- C
Repairable or core
Warranty · Sold as is
Sold as a core or a repair candidate. Damage is listed in the description. These go out at core price and are not returnable.
What the warranty actually covers
A part that fails inside its warranty period is replaced off the racks, or refunded if we cannot match it. The warranty covers the part, not the labour to fit it, and it does not survive being modified or fitted to a vehicle other than the one quoted. Return freight on a genuine failure is ours.
The paperwork behind it
- Motor vehicle recycler licence
- Licence MVRL 55 0142, held with NSW Fair Trading. Every written-off vehicle we take is notified to the register the day it arrives.
- PPSR checked on intake
- No car comes off the truck until we have run it. If there is money owing or a theft flag, we do not touch it.
- Licensed waste streams
- Oils, coolant, fuel and refrigerant go to licensed handlers under our EPA depollution procedure, with dockets kept for seven years.
- Insurer salvage panel
- We buy statutory and repairable write-offs directly from three insurers, which is why late-model stock lands here first.
Who you get on the phone
- Counter
- Four staff on the phones and the front desk, 7:00am to 5:00pm. They are the ones who walk the racks for you.
- Dismantling
- Twelve dismantlers across two bays, working to a rack order rather than pulling to order.
- Dispatch
- Packing and freight, six days a week. Palletised freight leaves daily for Melbourne and Brisbane.

The counter is open to the public — you are welcome to inspect a part before you pay for it. The yard itself is closed to visitors while the machines are running.
Ring the counter — (02) 5550 0142A note on this site
DemoWreck is not a real business. It is a fully worked fixture used to demonstrate the ReadyParts ERP end to end — intake, depollution, dismantling, grading, racking and dispatch — with a public face that behaves like a real dismantler’s would. The yard, the stock, the licence number and the phone number are invented.
